I totally think that Atonement was given too much attention. I was so excited to see it before it came to the theater (which, for people who don't live in NYC or LA it came WAY later than the 'release date'). It finally came and I went to watch it- and it was just "ok"- what a bummer. However, that library scene was hot! I could have stopped the movie right there and been completely fine with it!
